Frequently Asked Questions — Student Visa

Q1: Do I need IELTS for a student visa?

Most countries and universities require proof of English proficiency. Canada accepts IELTS, TOEFL, PTE and Duolingo. UK requires IELTS Academic (minimum 5.5–6.5 depending on course). Australia requires IELTS 5.5–6.5. USA accepts TOEFL and IELTS. Germany does not require English tests for German-taught programmes. We advise you on the exact requirement for your specific course and university.

Yes. Canada allows 20 hours per week during term and full-time during scheduled breaks. UK allows 20 hours per week. Australia allows 48 hours per fortnight. USA allows on-campus work up to 20 hours per week on an F-1 visa. Germany allows 120 full days or 240 half days per year.

Yes — this is one of the biggest advantages of studying abroad. Canada's Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) allows you to work for up to 3 years after graduation, which can lead directly to Express Entry PR. Australia's Temporary Graduate Visa (485) allows 2–4 years post-study. UK's Graduate Route allows 2 years. Germany allows 18 months job search after graduation.

It varies by country and programme. Canada requires approximately CAD 10,000+ in addition to first year tuition. Australia requires AUD 21,041 per year. UK requires funds to cover tuition plus GBP 1,334 per month of study. Germany requires approximately EUR 11,208 per year (shown via a blocked account). We give you the exact figure for your specific application.

A rejection is not the end. We review the refusal letter, identify the exact reason, address it directly, and reapply with a stronger application. Many of our successful clients had a previous rejection before coming to us.

Canada SDS Stream: 20 calendar days. Canada Regular Stream: 8–12 weeks. UK: 3 weeks after CAS. Australia: 4–6 weeks. USA: appointment availability varies, then 2–3 weeks. Germany: 6–12 weeks. We advise you to apply at least 3–4 months before your course start date.
